bloop

/blo͞op/

a mistake.

The blooop series came to be from the pressure I felt to make "serious work." These forms emerge from my time in the studio as I combine wheel thrown parts. They are playful, loud and unapologetic. Leading my work into a totally different direction; using and exploring materials I wouldn’t have otherwise. After being fired in the kiln, this small sculpture is covered in rubber, creating the "oh please touch me" surface. This particular pigment is a shimmery grey in the shade, but is a holographic party animal in the sun. Signed on the bottom. Approximately 6" in height, 7" width.
